Dave and Maggies
Dog Family

Hello everyone and welcome to our dog family website

I think this is the proper place and time to introduce myself to you, before I start telling you about dogs, the dog family and their wild relatives, before telling you a bit more about my beautiful little country and the amazing Dutch dog breeds that come from here. My name is Maggie, born and raised in a little town called Soest, not too far from Amsterdam, in The Netherlands. I am the co-host of our dog family website and I love to share one of my greatest passions with the Love of my life by creating this website together. We both love to share all our interests and passions with each other. I have always been interested in sports, one of Daves biggest passions. Baseball and ice hockey, as we call it over here, are definitely among my favorite sports to watch. I have played tennis for a number of years, rode horse back, and did Tae Kwondo. Some twists of fate forced me however to give that all up. Dave handed me a new challenge though and that is to try and master the basics of the wonderful game of Golf. I just get so envious when I watch him play so easily. I love to watch him play as well and just hope that one day we will be able to go out there and play our first game of Golf together.

There are so many more things that I am interested in and love to do. From an early age I have been writing poetry and short stories and got some poems and stories published. I love to paint, mostly scenery, love to draw as well and usually draw pictures of animals and of all those beautiful and characteristic faces around me. And of course I had to pester all my loved ones and made them pose for a drawing and annoyed them even more by hanging those pictures up on the walls of the house. Dave is the victim I am currently working on. Photography is another thing I like to do and I love to work on the pictures on the computer and see what I can make them look like. The greater part of the pictures we use for our website are the ones that I took myself. Is there a nicer way to make a hobby to good use.

Nature and animals have been a life long passion as well and while growing up a variety of poor little critters ended up in my bedroom. Unfortunately they all went up into thin air over night, as my Mom did not allow any pets or other animals in the house. I grew up on the edge of town, surrounded by farmers and farmland, animal heaven for me with all the little kittens, dogs, horses and other farm animals to cuddle and play with, but I also spent a lot of time in the meadows around my parental home looking for all kinds of animals in the wild.

I love life, love people and I love living and everything that goes with it, the good and the bad. After that wonderful day when Dave came into my life, I love life more than ever. Every day with him is more than I could ever have dreamed of. After we decided that we wanted to be together forever, Dave and I tried our very best to make it possible for me to move to the US. North Canton, the city Dave was living in then and the entire area around it, his Loved Ones, the people, nature, the woods, the beautiful wooden houses and buildings, all those shops and malls, I love it all and I would have been so proud to have become a US citizen eventually. Alas, after putting a lot of time and effort into finding a company that wanted to sponsor me to get the necessary permits, the company we had found and was going to hire me, decided not to go through with it.

Instead of being discouraged, Dave did not think twice and gave up everything he had and moved to The Netherlands so we could be together the way we wanted. We have been living together now for almost one and a half years and each and every day with My Love is all holidays in one. He turned our life into one beautiful never ending dream. I do still write every now and then and I still paint and draw pictures, but not like I used to do before we were together. It is just not as important any more. Everything WE can do together is what WE want to do. And there is still so much to do, so many things to experience together, so many places we want to go visit and see together. It is us what makes everything we do so very special, so precious and wonderful.

The last thing I want to do now is to introduce you to our third family member. Our little bundle of joy, mens best friend: our April, or Little Stinky as we like to call her, because of all those unexpected naughty stinky little things she just loves to surprise us with. Do not get the wrong idea though, we are crazy for her. But every now and then we can not help but think: whatever did we get ourselves into. That she only does all those things just to spite us.

But, just look at her picture, is she not adorable? Would you not be able to forgive this little critter almost anything? The picture you see here is one we took when she was only about 10 weeks old. You should see her today, over 16 months old now. She is even more adorable now with her beautiful long curly white and black hair, a little moustache and a beard and long black hair hanging down from the top of her little head in front of her dark trusting eyes. Life, the yard and our home are just one big playground to her with so many things to do and try and explore. And we are the fortunate ones to be allowed in there with her.
