What are the things you always wanted to know about pets and where they come from; the Dog Family and their wild relatives. Probably the same things we wanted to know, everyone wants to know when looking for a pet, and in this case a dog. Years of fun and love, joy and pain from living with dogs and of course other pets, our love for the wild and all the beautiful creatures that live out there and our curiosity to learn more and more about each and every one of them, all the years of experience and little tricks we learned, you will find here on this website.

For the greater part of my life dogs have been with me, just like Dave was the proud owner of some very special dogs during his life. We feel so very fortunate to have been allowed to be a part of their lives, to earn their trust and love. To learn all their habits and the funny little things they do and the annoying things as well.

Since a very young age, actually for as long as I can remember, one of the wild members of the dog family has been with me as well. The wonderful magnificent wolf. They came to me in my dreams and they still do, unfortunately not as often any more. These members of the dog family showed me, taught me so much from the way they live. For years it has been my plan to once go on a wolf trail in the wild of Canada. To try and meet these illusive alluring creatures in the wild, right where they belong. This far I have only had the pleasure to meet them in the many Zoos I have been to. But we will go further into this in a section specially dedicated to the wolf.

What you will find here, is a list with dog breeds from all over the world. It would be too much to write about all of them and besides that, I have not had the pleasure to meet each and every member of the big dog family, with somewhere around 450 different breeds. There will be a section with stories about some of the pets that are and have been a part of my life, some poems that I wrote about members of the dog family as well for the ones who do enjoy poetry.

We will show you pictures and articles about our favorite dog breeds with a description of their looks and their character traits. And of course there will be some pages dedicated to the beautiful Dutch dog breeds, with pictures whenever available.

What we are not doing here is trying to be an expert, because we are still learning every day. There are enough well qualified experts out there to turn to for serious problems. It is the stories and advice, little tricks from dog lovers, from animal lovers, that you will find here and we do hope you will enjoy the articles you will see on this site.

Do come back regularly, because we will be adding new pages and pictures all the time. And of course we do appreciate your feedback. Please feel free to write us about anything you want to share with us.
